Gaza: Development Aid

Asked by James McMurdockIndependentForeign, Commonwealth and Development OfficeTabled Answered 7 September 2026UIN 19310

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, with reference to her Department's press release entitled UK backs Gaza recovery as Foreign Secretary urges renewed push for peace, published on 13 July 2026, what plans are in place to report to Parliament on expenditure and outcomes arising from the £10 million funding package.

Answered by Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office

The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office has robust safeguards in place to manage the risk of aid diversion and ensure compliance with sanctions and counter-terrorism legislation. All delivery partners undergo detailed due diligence assessments to evaluate their capability and capacity to deliver UK-funded programmes effectively. We remain committed to working with partners to end the conflict, address the dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza, remove the threat from Hamas, and deliver long-term peace for Israelis and Palestinians.
