Asked by James McMurdockIndependentForeign, Commonwealth and Development OfficeTabled Answered 7 September 2026UIN 19311

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, what assessment she has made of the effectiveness of UK-funded aid programmes in Gaza over the last three years.

Answered by Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office

The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office has robust safeguards in place to manage the risk of aid diversion and ensure compliance with sanctions and counter-terrorism legislation. All delivery partners undergo detailed due diligence assessments to evaluate their capability and capacity to deliver UK-funded programmes effectively. We remain committed to working with partners to end the conflict, address the dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza, remove the threat from Hamas, and deliver long-term peace for Israelis and Palestinians.
