Business Rates: Valuation

Asked by Sir James CleverlyConservativeTreasuryTabled Answered 8 September 2026UIN 20052

The question

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, with reference to the answer of 10 April 2026 to Question 122678 on Business Rates: Valuation, what the dates were of those data drops; and whether the data included the effect on (a) pubs and (b) retail, hospitality and leisure properties.

Answered by Treasury

The dates of the five data drops provided by the Valuation Office prior to the publication of the draft 2026 lists were:
• 6 February 2025
• 7 March 2025
• 17 April 2025
• 30 May 2025
• 4 July 2025

The data drops contained data on all properties in the rating list, including pubs and retail, hospitality and leisure properties, with the 2026 valuations that had been completed at the point of those dates.
