Licensed Premises
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, with reference to the answer of 20 October 2025 to Question 78249 on Licensed Premises, what the status is of the introduction of hospitality zones; and whether there will be (a) primary and (b) secondary legislation on that issue.
Answered by Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government
The government has been considering a number of measures to further support the hospitality and nighttime industries, and is looking to build on the July 2026 announcement to cut business rates for pubs, clubs and live music venues. Currently, there are no plans to introduce specific legislation on hospitality zones, but we are working with other government departments to explore how we can encourage more local authorities to use existing powers and tools to establish night-time economy and hospitality zones.
