The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what was the public sector debt of Greater Manchester Combined Authority in each year since its establishment.

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government collects data returns from local authorities. There are various metrics by which debt can be measured. Relevant links to published data are given below:

Further, data on loans issued from the Public Works Loan Board are published at Historical Data and Current Data.

Authorities are also required to report their financial position in their Annual Statement of Accounts. These are normally published by authorities on their individual websites.
