Political Parties: Finance
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, whether she plans to make any changes to electoral law or political finance law over and above those set out in (a) the Representation of the People Bill and (b) the Government response to the Rycroft Review, published on 6 July 2026.
Answered by Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government
The Government has set out its current objectives for changes to electoral law and political finance law in the Representation of the People Bill and in response to the Rycroft Review.
The Government has been clear that neither the current Bill, nor the response to the Rycroft Review, represent the totality of our ambition for electoral reform and work will continue.
