The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade, what discussions he plans to have with the (a) retail, (b) hospitality and (c) leisure industry on the potential impact of the Employment Rights Act on access to entry-level and flexible jobs.

The Government is undertaking an extensive programme of engagement with trade associations and businesses, including in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors, to support implementation of the Employment Rights Act.

We have engaged with thousands of stakeholders through consultations and dedicated implementation events, including dedicated trade association engagement forums, roundtables and Sector Councils. We will continue working in partnership with employers, trade unions and wider civil society.
