The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, pursuant to the Answer of 16 June 2026 to Question 4241 on Department for Education: Secondment, in what policy area within the Council was the staff member assigned to.

Answered by Department for Education

Secondments into and out of the Civil Service are a valuable means of sharing expertise and building capability to support delivery of government priorities. The secondment with London Borough of Tower Hamlets, which arose through an advertised role that was agreed could be undertaken as a secondment opportunity has supported delivering continuous improvement and strengthening relationships between central government departments and the local authority.
