Hospitality Industry: Business Rates
The question
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, with reference to the written statement of 23 July 2026, HLWS301, on Business Rates Relief for Pubs, Clubs and Live Music Venues, through which specific increases in taxation will the 20% reduction be centrally funded.
Answered by Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government
The Government will set out further details on funding of the additional 20% business rates relief for pubs, social clubs and live music venues, at the Budget. As part of that work, the Government is reviewing reliefs and incentives across the business rates system, including for businesses that do not make a positive contribution to local communities, such as vape shops.
