Asked by Sir James CleverlyConservativeMinistry of Housing, Communities and Local GovernmentTabled Answered 8 September 2026UIN 20281

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, with reference to the answer of 20 July 2026 to Question HL2155 on Anti-Muslim Hostility, what guidance and communications have been given to Chief Constables and police forces in relation to the new definition of anti-Muslim hostility.

Answered by Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government

The Government encourages organisations across the public, private and third sectors to consider how the definition may be applied in their own contexts. Any use of the definition by police forces must be consistent with existing legal obligations.
