The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, with reference to her department’s official statistics publication. Community and Engagement Survey 2025/26: neighbourhood, of 31 July 2026, Table D26: Not a strong sense of belonging to Britain by demographics, people aged 16 and over England, January 2026 to March 2026, for what reason the data has been correlated with gender identity.
Answered by Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government
The Community Engagement Survey data tables cross-tabulate most questions by a wide range of demographics collected in the survey – including sex, gender identity and sexual orientation. Demographic data enables us to identify differences and changes over time in engagement, experiences and attitudes between demographic groups. Collecting this data also enables us to ensure responses are representative of the English population (aged 16+), and are not biased towards any demographic group.
