Anti-Muslim Hatred/Islamophobia Definition Working Group

Asked by Sir James CleverlyConservativeMinistry of Housing, Communities and Local GovernmentTabled Answered 8 September 2026UIN 20485

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, whether groups subject to the Department's policy of non-engagement submitted written evidence or submissions to the Working Group on the Islamophobia definition.

Answered by Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government

The independent Working Group engaged extensively with a wide range of stakeholders and also launched a Call for Evidence that was open to the public and any individual or organisation was able to submit evidence. The Government does not routinely publish the details of individual respondents to calls for evidence. The Working Group did not engage with any organisations that are subject to the Government’s non-engagement policy.
