Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office: Flags
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, with reference to the answer of 22 November 2024 to Question HL2411 on Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office: Flags, if he will place in the Library a copy of the public sector equality duty assessment on flying the bisexual flag.
Answered by Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office
Under the Public Sector Equality Duty, the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) is required to pay due regard to the need to eliminate discrimination, advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations between different people when carrying out their activities. There are no plans to place in the Library a copy of the equality assessment on flying the bisexual flag. As set out in the answer to Question HL2411, our decision was based on raising awareness and promoting tolerance.
The Government is committed to advancing the rights of women and girls and to championing the rights of LGBT+ people globally.
