Inter Mediate: Contracts
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, pursuant to the Answer of 30 June 2026 to Question 12162 on Government Departments: Procurement, and with reference to the Answer of 26 March 2026 to Question 122723 on Inter Mediate: Contracts, whether each payment made to Inter Mediate since July 2024 has been published via the Cabinet Office’s Government Grants Information System data, or whether some payments have been redacted or exempted from publication.
Answered by Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) operates a decentralised programming model. Under this approach, the FCDO has agreed with Government Grants Management Function (GGMF) to provide grant data for publication on Government Grants Information System (GGIS) retrospectively through an annual snapshot of each financial year. All payments to Inter Mediate, post and prior to July 2024 are excluded from GGIS publication in line with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the FCDO's approach to aid transparency, whereby information is excluded from publication where sharing could pose risks to international relations, compromise the security and safety of partners, prejudice national security, or reveal personal data that could infringe on privacy or breach confidentiality. The FCDO supports a range of civil society and non-governmental organisations working on mediation and conflict resolution. Given the sensitive and discreet nature of these efforts, we do not disclose details of the projects supported. This ensures that neither the safety of partners, nor the integrity of ongoing peace efforts are compromised.
