The question

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, whether special advisers within departments are allowed to hold responsibility for the recruitment of other special advisers within that department.

Answered by Cabinet Office

As per the Special Adviser Code of Conduct, Special Advisers are able to exercise power in relation to the management of other special advisers, including on recruitment.
