Information Commissioner's Office: Finance

Asked by Mike WoodConservativeDepartment for Business, Innovation, Science and TradeTabled Answered 8 September 2026UIN 20955

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, what was the Information Commissioner Office’s request for funding in the 2025 Spending Review, and how much of the request was (a) provided and (b) not provided.

Answered by Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade

The Information Commissioner's Office submitted a Spending Review bid as part of the Government's Spending Review process. The Government considers bids from a range of its arms length bodies. Final funding allocations have been determined through the Spending Review process and details of settlements are announced through the usual government channels. The Government does not routinely publish details of individual funding bids submitted as part of Spending Review discussions.
