Driving Licences: Older People

Asked by Ruth CadburyLabourDepartment for TransportTabled Answered 8 September 2026UIN 21154

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what estimate has she made of the average time taken to process an application for an over 70s driving licence.

Answered by Department for Transport

The information requested is not readily available and can only be extracted at disproportionate cost. To extract this information would require a manual interrogation of each driving licence renewal application to determine if the applicant was aged 70 or over.
