No 10 North: Staff
The question
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, whether there is an (a) impact assessment or (b) business case, of the (i) costs and (ii) benefits of assigning staff to No10 North making relative to the staff being based in Westminster in HM Treasury.
Answered by Treasury
The Prime Minister established No10 North on the first day of the new administration, including the transfer of local economic growth and devolution strategy from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government and local economic growth policy from HM Treasury, with these arrangements confirmed in a statement published on 22 July
To support its initial set up phase, HM Treasury has seconded a number of staff to No10 North on an interim basis, alongside several other departments. Formal recruitment and related budget transfers will take place in due course, ensuring that No10 North is funded from within existing budgets.
