Civil Service: Facilities Agreements
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, with reference to Deposited Paper, DEP2026-0371, committed on 19 May 2026, on Civil Service facility time framework and guidance, whether there will be new or revised guidance to the police on trade union facility time.
Answered by Home Office
Under the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992, police staff are entitled to reasonable facility time to carry out certain duties as representatives of recognised trade unions. The Government does not have any plans at present to issue new or revised guidance regarding trade union facility time for police staff.
