The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland, with reference to the Scottish Government's document entitled Human Rights Bill for Scotland: discussion paper, published on 1 July 2025, whether the proposed Bill will engage reserved matters, including the Equality Act.

This Government is fully committed to the protection of human rights, both domestically and internationally. It is for the Scottish Government to ensure their legislation is drafted within the parameters of the devolution settlement. The UK Government will consider any forthcoming legislation in the usual way.
