Asked by Mike WoodConservativeDepartment for Energy Security and Net ZeroTabled Answered 8 September 2026UIN 21022

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, pursuant to the answer of 6 July 2026, to Question 15240, on Public Appointments, what organisation was the Expert Adviser seconded from; whether they are still seconded in the Expert Adviser role from the same organisation; and who paid and pays the cost of the adviser.

Answered by Department for Energy Security and Net Zero

The Expert Advisor was Seconded from SSE.

They are no longer Seconded into DESNZ.

The Secondee, as is standard, remained on their employer’s payroll, and DESNZ reimbursed SSE for the costs of the Expert Advisors Employment.
