The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade, pursuant to the answer of 10 July 2026 to Question 14611 on DHSC: Facilities Agreements, for what reason the Code of Practice is being updated for the Employment Rights Act 2025.
Answered by Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade
Acas is updating the Code of Practice on time off for trade union duties and activities to reflect reforms introduced through the Employment Rights Act 2025 relating to rights to time off and provision of facilities for trade union representatives. The draft updated Code was laid before Parliament on 6 July 2026.
The Code provides practical guidance on the operation of the new statutory framework, supporting its effective implementation when the changes come into force in October 2026.
