Local Government: Lincolnshire

Asked by Dr Caroline JohnsonConservativeMinistry of Housing, Communities and Local GovernmentTabled Answered 4 September 2026UIN 21310

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what assessment she has made of the potential impact of Local Government Reorganisation in Lincolnshire on funding for the North Hykeham Relief Road.

Answered by Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government

There is no reason for local government reorganisation to impact funding for the Hykeham Relief Road. Commitments undertaken by existing councils will become the responsibility of the new unitary authorities. Councils should continue to operate in accordance with their agreed medium-term financial plans throughout the transition period.
