Asked by Kevin HollinrakeConservativeDepartment for Environment, Food and Rural AffairsTabled Answered 8 September 2026UIN 21232

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, with reference to the answer of 16 December 2025, to Question 94728, on DEFRA: Redundancy Pay, what was the name of the staff member of Flood Re who received the exit package of up to £350,000, and what was the business case for a payment of that size.

Answered by Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs

Flood Re is operationally independent of government and Defra does not hold information on individual exit packages or their associated business case. Flood Re is both a private company and a central government body for accounting purposes and required to comply with relevant aspects of Managing Public Money.
