Defence: Digital Technology
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to page 50 of his department's Strategic Defence Review, published 2 June 2025, what progress has been made in delivering a digital targeted web in 2027, requiring access, in whole or in part, to a Defence-wide Secret Cloud, with a minimum viable product available in 2026.
Answered by Ministry of Defence
The Ministry of Defence is making good progress towards delivery of the Digital Targeting Web (DTW), which will improve the speed, accuracy and efficiency of military targeting through integrated data, applications and workflows.
As part of Exercise FUSION STRIKE in Nov 26, the MOD expects to demonstrate a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for DTW. This will test the integration of key targeting functions through a shared digital environment, reducing reliance on manual data transfers and enabling users to access and update target-related information through connected workflows.
The lessons from FUSION STRIKE 26 will inform further development towards the Strategic Defence Review ambition of a Digital Targeting Web enabled, in whole or in part, through Defence-wide cloud capabilities by 2027.
