The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to page 62 of his Department's Strategic Defence Review, published 2 June 2025, what progress he has made on developing a package of support for industrial partners that removes barriers to collaboration and drives better, more cost-effective results.

The Government accepted Recommendation 10 of the Strategic Defence Review and is implementing a range of reforms to strengthen collaboration with industry and improve productivity across Defence acquisition.
As part of this work, the Ministry of Defence has launched a review of defence contracting arrangements, including the Single Source Contract Regulations framework, to ensure that commercial approaches support faster delivery, investment and efficiency.
Defence has also introduced a Segmented Acquisition Model and accelerated commercial pathways to simplify procurement processes, reduce bureaucracy and enable capability to reach the Armed Forces more quickly.
In addition, work is underway to simplify and streamline requirements placed on suppliers, including reform of standards and conditions, while maintaining appropriate safety, security and operational assurance. This includes reducing duplication, clarifying mandatory requirements and making it easier for suppliers, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, to work with Defence.
