The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what consideration has been given to formally recognising the Curriculum Framework for Children and Young People with Vision Impairment (CFVI) within the National Inclusion Standards.

The National Inclusion Standards will set out what ordinarily available provision should be in every setting across the 0 to 25 system. As well as the evidence-based tools, strategies and approaches for educators to draw on to identify and support children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including with vision impairment.
We have appointed an independent panel of experts, selected for their skills, knowledge, and professional standing, and led by education and health co-chairs, to advise on what approaches, strategies, and tools should be included in the Standards.
As part of their work to develop the Standards, the Panel will consider a range of evidence and research relevant to different areas of need, including vision impairment, to inform recommendations on support that should ordinarily be available in education settings.
The Standards will be reviewed by the panel on a regular basis, to ensure they continue to reflect the best available evidence on SEND.
