Indo-Pacific Region: NATO
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to page 73 of his Department's Strategic Defence Review, published on 2 June 2025, what progress his Department has made on connecting the Euro Atlantic with key allies in the Indo-Pacific, including to strengthen collective security in both regions and building collective defence industrial capacity.
Answered by Ministry of Defence
The Government is strengthening links between the Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific through closer cooperation with the Indo-Pacific Four (Australia, Japan, New Zealand and the Republic of Korea), including through NATO engagement, interoperability activities and cooperation on shared security challenges.
We are also building collective defence industrial capacity including through AUKUS and the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP), which bring together Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific partners to develop advanced defence capabilities.
