Asked by Stuart AndersonConservativeMinistry of DefenceTabled Answered 8 September 2026UIN 21572

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what progress he has made on developing deeper collaboration with allies and partners in areas such as autonomy, AI, electromagnetic warfare, modelling and simulation since the Strategic Defence Review.

Answered by Ministry of Defence

Since publication of the Strategic Defence Review, the Ministry of Defence has continued to strengthen collaboration with allies and partners across a range of advanced capability areas. This includes accelerating cooperation on artificial intelligence and autonomous systems through the Rapid AI Delivery Taskforce (Taskforce RAID) and the Defence AI Centre, alongside work with allies to promote the safe, responsible and effective adoption of AI-enabled military capabilities.

The Department has also enhanced collaboration on cyber and electromagnetic resilience, warfare development, and modelling and simulation, including through NATO-aligned activities and closer interoperability with partner nations. These initiatives support the Strategic Defence Review's objective of improving integration with allies and maintaining operational advantage.
