Indo-Pacific Region: Intelligence Services
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to page 78 of his department’s Strategic Defence Review, published 2 June 2025, what progress has been made on improving burden-sharing with European partners in the Indo-Pacific.
Answered by Ministry of Defence
The Government is improving burden-sharing with European partners in the Indo-Pacific through closer coordination with allies and partners. The 2025 UK Carrier Strike Group deployment demonstrated the benefits of coordinated activity with European and regional partners, while programmes such as the Global Combat Air Programme and greater cooperation between NATO and the Indo-Pacific Four are strengthening collective security and defence industrial collaboration.
