The Government continues to make progress on its defence relationship with Indonesia. In November 2025, the UK and Indonesia agreed a landmark £4 billion Maritime Partnership Programme securing 1,000 jobs in the UK and demonstrating our shared commitment to stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific, upholding freedom of navigation and supporting a rules-based international order. In January 2026, the UK and Indonesia committed to forging a new, deeper Strategic Partnership which includes cooperation on defence.
