Royal Fleet Auxiliary
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to page 107 of his Department’s Strategic Defence Review, published on 2 June 2025, what progress has been made on exploring alternative approaches to augmenting the Royal Fleet Auxiliary to deliver a balanced, cost-effective fleet that maximises the UK’s warfighting capabilities.
Answered by Ministry of Defence
Work to explore alternative approaches to augmenting the Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) is ongoing as part of the Department's wider consideration of future maritime support requirements. A range of options are being assessed to ensure the Royal Navy and Royal Fleet Auxiliary have the support vessels and capabilities required to meet current and future operational demands.
