Asked by Stuart AndersonConservativeMinistry of DefenceTabled Answered 8 September 2026UIN 21657

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, since his department’s Defence Industrial Strategy, published 8 September 2025, what progress has been made on developing a resilient UK industrial base.

Answered by Ministry of Defence

The Government is strengthening the resilience of the UK defence industrial base through implementation of the Strategic Defence Review, Defence Industrial Strategy and Defence Investment Plan. We are improving supply chain resilience, identifying and mitigating critical vulnerabilities, enhancing sovereign and onshore capabilities, and delivering the Industrial Readiness Programme to strengthen Defence's ability to scale production and sustain military operations during periods of increased demand.
