The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, how many businesses in South Shropshire are in the defence supply chain.

Answered by Ministry of Defence

The Government is backing British businesses by directing an increasing share of a growing defence budget towards UK-based firms. There are currently 16 businesses with open Ministry of Defence contracts where the work is being undertaken in Shropshire. ‘Location of Work’ data relating to businesses specifically in South Shropshire is not available.
