Nuclear Weapons
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, since his department’s Defence Industrial Strategy, published 8 September 2025, what progress has been made in the triple-lock on the nuclear deterrent.
Answered by Ministry of Defence
We remain committed to and continue to deliver against the Nuclear Triple Lock. The UK is constructing four Dreadnought Class submarines to succeed the Vanguard Class and maintain the nation's nuclear deterrent into the future. The first of class is expected to enter service in the early 2030s. The Royal Navy continues to deliver the Continuous At Sea Deterrent through Operation Relentless, supported by ongoing investment in defence nuclear infrastructure to meet future platform and warhead requirements.
