The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, since his department’s Defence Industrial Strategy, published 8 September 2025, what progress has been made in using AI in the context of warfare.

Since the publication of the Defence Industrial Strategy, the Department committed more than £300 million to AI adoption and enabling technologies through the Defence Investment Plan (DIP).
This investment has accelerated the adoption of AI through Taskforce RAID (Rapid AI for Defence), which is developing AI-enabled capabilities to deliver operational advantage to the UK's frontline the investment in critical AI enablers through Project FRONTIER. We are also embedding AI across transformative programmes, funded in the DIP, including the Digital Targeting Web, Project ASGARD, Integrated Air and Missile Defence, the Hybrid Navy, and Collaborative Combat Aircraft.
In addition, the Defence AI Investment Fund has been established to support the accelerated adoption of AI across Defence and the Defence AI Centre (DAIC) continues to support Defence’s AI initiatives and programmes, connect capability to outcomes to deliver operational advantage to the UK's frontline.
