Airports: Security

Asked by Greg SmithConservativeDepartment for TransportTabled Answered 8 September 2026UIN 21824

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what guidance her Department issues to UK airports and ground handling operators on identifying and reporting suspected malicious interference with aircraft while on the ground.

Answered by Department for Transport

UK aviation security regulations and associated guidance require all persons with access to airport security restricted areas and aircraft within those areas to undertake general security awareness training. Safety and security at airports is the responsibility of airports and all other organisations that operate on the site.
