Social Services: Finance

Asked by Navendu MishraLabourDepartment of Health and Social CareTabled Answered 7 September 2026UIN 21931

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what discussions she has had with local authorities on the adequacy of social care funding to meet current and projected demand.

Answered by Department of Health and Social Care

On 29 July the Prime Minister set out his objectives to reform the social care system and brought forward the timetable for Baroness Casey’s commission to inform that reform programme. All aspects of the current system will be reviewed as part of that process, including the issues raised by the Hon Member, and we will continue to update Parliament on a regular basis.
