Finance: Education

Asked by Shivani RajaConservativeDepartment for EducationTabled Answered 8 September 2026UIN 22388

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what steps the Department is taking to ensure that young people have access to engaging financial education while in full-time education.

Answered by Department for Education

Pupils currently receive financial education through the mathematics and citizenship curricula, and it is for schools to determine how to deliver this appropriately, considering relevant guidance and requirements.

The department expects there will be a public consultation on proposals for the curriculum and assessment system, including on financial education, following publication of the government response to the Curriculum and Assessment Review final report in November 2025.
