Sky Sabre: Procurement
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to the Answer of 10 July 2026 to Question 15519 on Sky Sabre, on what date was the current Sky Sabre contract signed.
Answered by Ministry of Defence
The Sky Sabre capability has been acquired through a number of separate contracts covering command and control systems, radars, launchers, missiles, support and capability upgrades. There is therefore no single "Sky Sabre contract".
The initial Sky Sabre capability was procured under contracts let prior to its entry into service, with subsequent contracts awarded to support capability enhancement, fleet growth, support and sustainment.
Beyond the original contracts for Sky Sabre, the following contracts have also been awarded:
- Surface to Air Missile Operating Centres (SAMOCs). Contract Award was achieved in July 2024.
- Land Ceptor launchers and fire unit support vehicles. Contract Award was achieved in May 2025.
