The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, how many military family homes have been fully upgraded under the Defence Housing Strategy since its publication, broken down by region.

Answered by Ministry of Defence

395 Service Family Accommodation homes have been fully upgraded under the Defence Housing Strategy, since its publication on 3 November 2025.

Delivery is already underway, with upgrades recently completed on 1,250 of the poorest-quality homes. Further improvement programmes are progressing across the estate this financial year, including bringing 1,000 previously unavailable homes back online, while targeted works continue to modernise occupied properties.

The Defence Housing Strategy provides a decade-long plan to modernise or rebuild approximately 40,000 military homes to a higher standard. This will ensure there are enough high-quality houses in the right location.
