The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to the Answer of 10 July 2026 to Question 15072 on Unmanned Marine Systems: Procurement, what the scope is of the planned enhancements to RFA PROTEUS.

The Government is investing in the Royal Navy’s suite of capabilities for critical undersea infrastructure protection, including enhancements to capabilities operated from RFA PROTEUS. While specific capability details remain subject to ongoing development, programme decisions and operational sensitivities, planned enhancements are expected to include advanced uncrewed systems and the capabilities necessary to sustain these operationally.
