The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, with reference to the Press release entitled National Drought Group steps up response after third heatwave, published on 21 July 2026, what assessment has she made of the adequacy of the Environment Agency’s classification of Grafham Water’s water level as notably low.

Answered by Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs

The Environment Agency classification is based on data supplied by Anglian Water compared to the historic record of fill percentage for the time of year.
