The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to Recommendation 2 of the 2025 Strategic Defence Review, what progress he has made on a) establishing and b) implementing the roadmap for delivering deeper interoperability with NATO Allies.

The Department has completed the creation of the NATO Interoperability Roadmap, as recommended in the Strategic Defence Review (SDR). This Roadmap was endorsed by the Defence Secretary of State and the implementation has commenced. The Roadmap enables the Ministry of Defence (MOD) to prioritise efforts across Defence to mitigate and close any gaps identified through its creation.
The MOD continually reviews and tracks progress on the UK efforts to improve NATO Interoperability and improving our ability to fight in the Alliance and alongside Allies. This is particularly relevant to ongoing development of the Integrated Force Design 35 which will refine options for the future structure, equipment and operational focus of UK Defence. Although this document will, necessarily, not be available for public release due to its eventual classification, the Member can be assured that the SDSR’s ‘NATO First’ tenet is central to this and we remain closely engaged with NATO allies in identifying opportunities.
