The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to the answer of 17 July 2026 to Question 17103 and with reference to Recommendation 5 of the 2025 Strategic Defence Review, did he establish the Digital Warfighter Group with appropriate recruitment and pay freedoms by July 2026.

Work continues to establish the Digital Warfighter Group (DWG). Defence has identified the majority of the force elements required, validated the proposed operating model against a real-worked operational problem, and defined the associated resource requirements. Further work is underway to define recruitment, retention and enumeration mechanisms and pay freedoms required to support the model, secure funding, and integrate the capability into Defence's broader operating framework.
