Ukraine: Military Aid

Asked by Ben Obese-JectyConservativeMinistry of DefenceTabled Answered 8 September 2026UIN 22913

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to recommendation 23 of the 2025 Strategic Defence Review, what recent progress has he made in exploring further opportunities to bolster the UK’s ironclad commitment to Ukraine via industrial collaboration.

Answered by Ministry of Defence

The UK remains resolute in its ironclad commitment to Ukraine. Through Programme Lyra and, more recently, the launch of the Kyiv Business Centre, we are deepening defence industrial cooperation under the UK-Ukraine 100 Year Partnership Agreement. These bring UK and Ukrainian industry closer together, support innovation, investment, and joint capability development.

As the Kyiv Business Centre reaches full operational capability, we expect significant interest from industry and investors alike. Working closely with the Government of Ukraine, we will continue to strengthen Ukraine’s defence industrial base, helping it access new markets, build long-term resilience and underpin Ukraine’s future security and prosperity.
