The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to recommendation 40 of the 2025 Strategic Defence Review, what progress he has made in exploring alternative approaches to augmenting the Royal Fleet Auxiliary to deliver a balanced, cost-effective fleet that maximises warfighting capabilities.

Work to explore alternative approaches to augmenting the Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) is ongoing as part of the Department's wider consideration of future maritime support requirements. A range of options are being assessed to ensure the Royal Navy and Royal Fleet Auxiliary have the support vessels and capabilities required to meet current and future operational demands.
