Asked by Ben Obese-JectyConservativeMinistry of DefenceTabled Answered 7 September 2026UIN 22959

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to recommendation 42 of the 2025 Strategic Defence Review, what progress he has made in accelerating the development and deployment of the Army’s new Recce-Strike approach.

Answered by Ministry of Defence

The Army has approved and is implementing a Deep Recce Strike Brigade to provide Corps-level (HQ ARRC) integration of intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and precision strike capabilities, including novel one-way effectors. The 5th Generation Land Force programme will increase human-machine teaming, autonomy and decision advantage, further accelerating recce-strike capability across the force.
