To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to the Answer of 23 June 2026 to Question 10051 on Armoured Fighting Vehicles: Procurement, what is the nature of the losses relating to ammunition for the Rarden cannon.

The losses relate to costs incurred for long lead items procured in support of the proposed reinstatement of Armour Piercing Fin-Stabilised Discarding Sabot ammunition capability for the Rarden cannon. Following a decision not to proceed with the capability, mitigation measures were unable to recover the costs incurred, resulting in a loss.
