The AI Expert Advisory Group was announced in June 2026. The department is currently undertaking the work necessary to establish the Group, including completing due diligence processes, appointing members and developing its initial work programme. Group members will provide independent expert advice to support the safe, effective and responsible adoption of artificial intelligence across Defence.
